This museum features exhibits and displays from the history of Alton, including from the voyage of Lewis and Clark, the Lincoln-Douglas debates and Robert Wadlow, the tallest person in history. The museum is open seven days a week.

This 12,000 sq. ft. museum features several exhibits about the history of the Mississippi River. Displays cover innovations in transportation technology and the environment and wildlife surrounding the area. Tours of the locks and dam at the museum site occur daily.
